The race towards clean energy takes a major step forward with the launch of a brand new Hydrogen Show at the upcoming KEY – The Energy Transition Expo. This groundbreaking initiative is a collaboration between Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and Hannover Fairs International GmbH (HFI), the Italian branch of Deutsche Messe AG.

The Hydrogen Show, supported by Hydrogen & Fuel Cells, will be a key highlight of KEY 2025, taking place from March 5th to 7th at the Rimini Expo Centre. This dedicated event signifies the growing importance of hydrogen, particularly green hydrogen produced through electrolysis, in achieving ambitious decarbonization goals.

Why Hydrogen Matters

The European Union recognizes the critical role of hydrogen in reducing emissions and aims to produce and import a combined total of 20 million tonnes by 2030. This new Hydrogen Show directly addresses this need by providing a platform for industry leaders to:

  • Discuss the latest advancements in hydrogen technology
  • Explore its potential in decarbonizing transportation and industry
  • Foster collaboration and create new hydrogen-focused projects

Building on Success

The Hydrogen Show is a natural expansion of the existing focus on hydrogen at KEY. By partnering with HFI, known for their highly successful Hydrogen & Fuel Cells EUROPE event at Hannover Messe, IEG aims to create a globally recognized platform dedicated to hydrogen solutions.

Quotes from Key Players

Corrado Peraboni, CEO of IEG: “We’ve always championed hydrogen’s potential, and this joint venture with HFI allows us to further strengthen its presence at KEY, making it a global reference point.”
Andreas Züge, General Manager of HFI: “Germany and Italy share a vision for hydrogen. We’re proud to collaborate with IEG to create an innovative and attractive platform in Italy.”
