The Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises (French: CONECT) urged the government on Tuesday to put into implementation a package of emergency economic measures announced on April 1 by the Ministry of Economy.
The organisation welcomed, in a press release, these measures which are likely “to restore the confidence of economic operators in a context of shrinking investment and soaring unemployment.”
It also called for publishing implementation provisions of laws on social and solidarity economy, crowdfunding and entrepreneurship and removing obstacles hindering the development of renewable energies.
The confederation said it is crucial to put in place necessary mechanisms to develop the transport sector and increase the competitiveness of industrial textile so that it can create wealth.
Economy and Planning Minister Samir Saied announced at a press conference held on April 1 “emergency economic measures” which, he said, are intended to stimulate the national economy, gradually restore the confidence of economic operators and protect the institutional fabric.
These measures are based on four thrusts, namely supporting cash flow and access to financing for enterprises, revitalising investment in promising sectors, facilitating business regulation and simplifying procedures and promoting exports.
