The hosting capacity is to be brought to 100% in closed spaces in the various tourist facilities, as from April 1, 2022, with the intensification of the control on the presentation of a “vaccination pass” and the obligation to wear protective masks and ventilate these spaces, the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts announced Friday.

This decision follows the one announced by the Ministry of Health, on February 25, 2022, on lightening the COVID-19 restrictions, recalls the Tourism Department.

The Ministry of Health had indeed decided the progressive lightening, from February 26, 2022, of the COVID-19 restrictions imposed on the arrivals in Tunisia within the framework of the fight against the coronavirus and the updating of the health protocols in various sectors, taking into account the improvement of the epidemiological indicators related to COVID-19.

The health protocol will be updated according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, the Tourism Department has also indicated, stressing the need to intensify the vaccination operations and the administration of booster doses to all the employees of tourist facilities.

In Tunisia, a first update has been made to the health protocol relating to tourism from March 1st 2022. The hosting capacity has thus been increased to 100% in the open spaces of the different tourist facilities and to 75% in the closed spaces, as of March 1st 2022.
