Ecomondo’s Strategic Roadshow: Paving the Way for New Green Business Opportunities

In a strategic move to amplify its global reach and foster new business ventures, the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) is launching an international roadshow ahead of Ecomondo 2025, scheduled for November 4th to 7th at the Rimini Expo Centre in Italy. This proactive engagement involves three key international stops – in Egypt, Serbia, and Poland – meticulously planned to spotlight emerging content, disruptive technologies, and lucrative collaboration opportunities within the burgeoning ecological transition sectors. This tour is poised to deepen the commercial dialogue between Italian companies and vital foreign markets, reinforcing Ecomondo’s standing as the definitive business and innovation hub for the green, blue, and circular economy across the Mediterranean and Europe. Each stop will provide a unique platform for Italian businesses to engage directly with high-profile international operators and buyers, setting the stage for significant deals and partnerships at the main Rimini exhibition.

Three Pillars of Ecomondo’s International Business Strategy

The roadshow kicks off on July 8th in Cairo, Egypt, a pivotal market for sustainable development. This event is a collaborative effort with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Egypt, the Italian Embassy, and the Italian Trade Agency Office. The agenda will delve into critical business areas such as the water cycle, bioenergy applications in agriculture, advanced waste management solutions, and energy efficiency. Egypt’s ambitious National Climate Strategy 2050, targeting 42% renewable energy production by 2035, underscores the immense investment potential. The Cairo stop will feature specialized themed sessions and crucial B2B meetings, facilitating direct connections between Egyptian stakeholders and Italian companies operating in environmental sectors, encompassing both public and private entities. The success of previous engagements is notable, with the 2024 Egyptian delegation comprising 40 top buyers from industries, utilities, municipalities, and ESCOs, resulting in a remarkable 401 B2B meetings organized across Ecomondo and KEY – The Energy Transition Expo. This robust engagement highlights strong commercial interest and a fertile ground for new partnerships.

Next, on September 9th, the roadshow arrives in Belgrade, Serbia, a region increasingly attractive for green investments. This stop is organized in collaboration with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with support from regional advisor MZ Consulting. The focus will be on high-growth strategic areas including Waste Management, Solar Energy, and Water. Investments in sustainability in the Balkans are significantly propelled by local incentives and crucial EU pre-accession programs, creating a dynamic environment for businesses looking to expand into rapidly developing markets.

The final international engagement will be on September 11th in Warsaw, Poland, utilizing the unique “Green Grill” format, co-created with Confindustria Poland. This informal, impactful networking event embodies the core business values of Ecomondo and KEY. Discussions will center on key commercial opportunities in biogas, advanced plastic waste management, water treatment technologies, and solar energy. The event will convene Italian companies and Polish stakeholders, fostering direct discussions on concrete projects and the application of cutting-edge technologies. Poland is actively pursuing significant investments to modernize its environmental infrastructure, supported by substantial European funds and national plans. Confindustria Poland’s robust network, comprising 105 member companies, representing 30,000 employees, and an aggregate turnover of 4.6 billion euros, signifies a powerful platform for Italian enterprises seeking to penetrate the Polish market.

Ecomondo 2025: A Comprehensive Platform for Green Business and Innovation

These three international roadshow stops offer a strategic preview of the extensive business and innovation landscape to be presented at Ecomondo 2025. The November edition in Rimini will feature a high-tech exhibition and conference itinerary structured around seven critical macro-areas for commercial development: Waste as Resource, Water Cycle & Blue Economy, Sites & Soil Restoration, Bioenergy & Agriculture, Earth Observation and Environmental Monitoring, Circular and Regenerative Bio-Economy, and the biennial SAL.VE, the ANFIA members’ expo for ecology sector vehicles, presenting a dedicated platform for B2B vehicle solutions.

Ecomondo 2025 will also feature specialized “vertical districts” designed to facilitate focused business interactions. These include the Blue Economy, dedicated to investment in marine ecosystem protection; the Circular Healthy City, exploring commercial models for circular urban development; the Paper District, showcasing sustainable business in paper design; the Textile District, highlighting ethical and sustainable fashion business models; and the Trenchless District, focusing on no-dig technologies for infrastructure development.

The Innovation District will serve as a central hub for applied research and business incubation, featuring an expanded area for Start-Up & Scale-Up companies, providing vital exposure and funding opportunities, alongside a focus on Green Jobs & Skills development for the future workforce. The prestigious Lorenzo Cagnoni Award for Green Innovation will also return, recognizing and promoting the most advanced technologies and business solutions across various sectors.

A comprehensive conference program, organized by the Technical Scientific Committee, will complement the trade show, offering deep insights into regulatory developments, ecosystem restoration projects, new forms of bioenergy, and predictive resource management – all crucial for business planning. Specific focuses will include the Mattei Plan and the integral role of green technologies in the African context, underscoring opportunities for international trade and sustainable investment in the continent.
