Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) has announced a strategic partnership with Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, marking a significant step in its internationalization strategy. The collaboration focuses on promoting Ecomondo and KEY – The Energy Transition Expo, two leading exhibitions in the Green and Technology sector, across African and Middle Eastern markets. This initiative aims to showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions addressing climate change mitigation, sustainable waste management, and water resource optimization. Ecomondo, in particular, will highlight advancements in bioenergy and renewable energy, solidifying Italy’s position as a key player in driving sustainable growth in these regions. The partnership will leverage accredited embassies, the Italian diplomatic system, and key local stakeholders to maximize engagement and impact.

Ecomondo 2025 Takes Center Stage: A Showcase for Sustainable Solutions

Ecomondo 2025, scheduled for November 4th-7th at the Rimini Expo Centre, will be formally presented to the African and Middle Eastern diplomatic corps in Italy on February 5th at Confindustria’s headquarters in Rome. This exclusive event will also feature representatives from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, demonstrating the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable partnerships. Following the Rome event, IEG will utilize the network of Italian Embassies across these regions to promote the exhibitions, ensuring broad awareness among key stakeholders, policymakers, and industry leaders. This targeted approach will facilitate connections and drive participation in Ecomondo 2025.

Africa Green Growth Forum Returns: Focus on Circular Economy and Sustainable Development

The 5th edition of the Africa Green Growth Forum, a flagship event within Ecomondo, will take center stage, focusing on strengthening circular economy cooperation across Africa. This year’s forum will delve into emerging opportunities and sustainable development initiatives, with a particular emphasis on the Mattei Plan. Recently expanded to include Angola, Ghana, Mauritania, Senegal, and Tanzania, the Mattei Plan underscores Italy’s growing commitment to supporting Africa’s green transition. The forum will serve as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of best practices in sustainable development.

African engagement with Ecomondo has witnessed consistent growth, with 169 business operators from the continent participating in the previous edition. This increasing involvement reflects the rising importance of sustainable solutions in Africa and the eagerness of local stakeholders to collaborate with international partners. The IEG, Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, and their institutional partners, through this strategic alliance, aim to foster impactful collaborations, facilitating knowledge transfer and investment in sustainable technologies for a greener future.
