Extraordinary results at Rimini Expo Centre for the largest ever edition of KEY – The Energy Transition Expo, the IEG (Italian Exhibition Group) event and a reference point in Southern Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean basin for energy transition and efficiency.

After three days of intense business and in-depth analysis of the sector’s key themes, the event closed today with a 41% increase in total attendance over 2023 (with international attendance up 60% of these totals), consolidating its role as the reference network for the global energy transition community.

The event also saw an increase of more than 30% in the number of exhibiting brands with a total of 830 in attendance, 35% of which from abroad with a strong component from China as well as from Northern Europe. The exhibition area extended over 16 halls, 4 more than in 2023.

More than 120 conferences enlivened the halls of the Expo Centre, keeping the spotlight on the transformations that are affecting the energy market.

Over 500 top buyers and international delegations from 57 countries were hosted at the show thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ITA – Italian Trade Agency, a widespread network of international agents and collaboration with the most important Italian and foreign associations. North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and the Balkan Area were the most represented areas.

KEY, which was inaugurated on Wednesday 28th February by Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, reflected the vitality and enthusiasm that are characterising the market at an international level with the participation of qualified professional operators from all over the world.

The event confirmed its role as an incubator for innovative Italian and international start-ups and SMEs. Wednesday 28th February, saw the very first presentation of the Award named in memory of IEG’s past President, Lorenzo Cagnoni.

Dpe-international electricity expo

In conjunction with KEY and for the second year running, Hall A1 hosted DPE – International Electricity Expo, the event organised by Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with Associazione Generazione Distribuita – Engines, Components, Generators, a confederate of ANIMA Confindustria – and Federazione ANIE, dedicated to the electrical generation, transmission, distribution, safety and automation ecosystem, which presented the Italian and European offer of systems and components for the generation and distribution of electricity, which are shaping the future of energy in Europe and the Mediterranean basin.

KEY CHOICE – Unlock the future of PPAs

Excellent debut for KEY CHOICE – Unlock the future of PPAs, the B2B event of KEY – The Energy Transition Expo, organised by IEG – Italian Exhibition Group in cooperation with Elemens and held at Rimini’s Palacongressi Conference Centre on the day before the opening of KEY.

KEY will be back at Rimini Expo Centre from 5th to 7th March 2025.
