The second edition of the Tunisia Africa Business Meetings will be held on December 6 and 7, 2022 in Tunis, by the Center for Export Promotion (CEPEX), in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

These are professional meetings entirely dedicated to B2B appointments in which will participate more than 100 buyers from 20 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. The targeted sectors are food processing, mechanical and electrical industries, textiles and clothing, pharmaceuticals, building materials and public works, chemical industry, health services, education and training services, communication and information technology and various services for businesses (finance, consulting, etc.).

In addition to B to B meetings, a plenary session, workshops and company visits are also planned during the two days of the event.

It is important to note that Tunisian exports to sub-Saharan Africa reached 1404.5 MD in 2021 recording an increase of 27.6% compared to 2020. The Ivory Coast is the main customer of Tunisia with a share of 17% of exports from Tunisia to sub-Saharan Africa followed respectively by Senegal (11%), Cameroon (7%) and Guinea (6%).

The main products exported are plaster, cement, margarine, toilet paper and food preparations.

The service sector also performs very well on the African market, while relying on the strengths and knowledge of Tunisian companies in several activities such as construction, health, ICT, education and many other areas.

Tunisia’s membership in the AfCFTA and COMESA is a major asset that should allow Tunisian companies to have better market access conditions and contribute to the development of intra-African trade.

These meetings are organized with the support of the project “Promotion of job-creating export activities to new African markets” (PEMA2), initiated under the mandate of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Export Development and CEPEX.
