SEC – Solar Exhibition and Conference – an Italian Exhibition Group event, ended successfully today at Rimini Expo Centre: three days of b2b and networking for companies and public administrations, in conjunction with ITALIA SOLARE’s FORUMTECH.
• Results beyond expectations for an event that intercepts one of the hottest sectors of the moment: energy transition towards a greater use of renewable sources
• Conferences organised by Key Energy in conjunction with Italia Solare’s ForumTech
The first edition of SEC – Solar Exhibition and Conference by Key Energy, Italian Exhibition Group’s “vertical” solar and photovoltaic event, closed successfully today at Rimini Expo Centre . Three days of technological showcasing one of the most central sectors for energy transition and, therefore, for the global economy, at a time when international tensions on energy supplies are so much in the public eye.
The show produced results beyond expectations for sector operators, who were able to develop tangible meeting matchings with profiled operators as well as intra-business and an exchange of know-how, including latest-generation panels, components and wallboxes for charging electric vehicles. IEG’s ability to act as a community catalyst for all the supply chains involved and to bring out the special features of each sector, with a profile that will be extended to the entire Mediterranean basin, was unanimously acknowledged.
The highly appreciated and well attended conferences and workshops organised under the supervision of Key Energy’s scientific board, headed by Professor Gianni Silvestrini, acted as veritable networking accelerators : from energy communities for industry and small municipalities, to agrivoltaics, which combines arable surfaces and energy supply, from the big theme of permitting and PPA to e-mobility and the opportunities that the African market represents for Italian companies. All this was also due to the participation of ANCI Emilia-Romagna, ANIE Energia, ANIE Rinnovabili, Borghi più belli d’Italia, Confagricoltura, Coordinamento Free, Elettricità Futura, ENEA, ETA Florence Energie Rinnovabili, FIRE, IBESA, ITALIA SOLARE, Kyoto Club, Legambiente, Motus-E, Res4Africa and Solar Power Europe.
IN CONJUNCTION WITH ITALIA SOLARE’S FORUMTECH
Held at the same time was ITALIA SOLARE’s ForumTech (which dealt with extremely topical issues, ranging from modules, inverters, storage and balance of system to green hydrogen), offering a single space for discussion among the entire community involved, which ranged from energy-intensive companies to small municipalities, as well as energy suppliers and trade associations. A bona fide marketplace for taking action on electricity bills and speeding up independence from natural gas imports.
SEC AND THE GREAT EXPERIENCE OF ECOMONDO AND KEY ENERGY
SEC therefore further underlined the appropriateness of dedicating an event to solar energy at this particular point in the context of the European decarbonisation policy, which aims towards policies for containing energy costs. Indeed, solar energy appears to be one of the most readily available renewable sources able to compensate – with the right combination of resources – for any reduction in dependence on gas. From utilities to mobility, the solar energy share can increase rapidly. And, according to the operators present, IEG has been able to catalyse this priority by updating its exhibition offer for a market that requires specific skills. Skills that Italian Exhibition Group boasts thanks to its enormous expertise in the sector developed over 25 years, firstly with Ecomondo and then with Key Energy.
SEC therefore has all the requirements to become a reference event for solar energy in Italy. Companies need to exhibit and find a technical moment to compare notes. The signs are encouraging: April will mark the world’s first terawatt of installed power. The future is just around the corner.
The next events for the renewable energy community will be held at IEG’s Expo Centre in Rimini in November 2022 with Key Energy and then again in Rimini in spring 2023.
